ki and i learned how to read palms today. skipped my first class but its WEEK 3 so acceptable beyond a doubt. also went to this sick yoga pilates fusion class today...everyone impressed with my flexibility, sHocKeRRR. some idiot asked if i stretch everyday? im liiiikeee err, its called being kinky...kidding.

I MADE CHEERLEADING YAYAYYY soooo happpyy!!! practice starts next tuesday :) and they have tumbling coaches so if i get my tuck back i can try out for smu cheer in the spring!!! you know, just for some dallas cowboy cheerleader practice...

im being such a good little kitty, 3rd day in the library in a ROW! this is the first semester ive been putting more than the required time in. actually reading the textbook and my notes? so impressive. too bad my grades here dont count towards my gpa...

ON A COOLER NOTE- libz ki and i did a pilates class yesterday and my abs are soo sore. really loved it!!! def doing it again. weather here is overcast again, but this weekend is supposed to be great :) ki and i have a trip planned into the rainforest for hiking and trekking waterfalls and cave exploring. into the australian hinterland, a place called springbrook national forest. and they have these glow worms in all the caves that look soo freaky!!! ahh and friday theyre having a 'frat party' at satin in broadbeach where they have kegs and red cups. tag line, 'the yanks have arrived'. so funny. we were just talking about how we miss frat parties! tonight though will be great, music festival on campus of aussie bands then campus bar after then east till 3! anddd we have 12 liters of wine to go through... love love love my 3 day weekends!!

TRIED OUT FOR BOND CHEERLEADING TODAY. really nervous even putting that online considering the embarassment if i dont make it. thru a back handspring for the first time since high school...they were impressed by my toe touch DUH. learned choreography to california gUrls chorus, ki wont let me practice in the room since she hates that song. played with my new aussie gf brooke who ALSO has a 2 door mercedes and a yellow lab. twinzzz! but really happy i tried out after all. battling nerves all day but im working on this whole being vulnerable/putting myself out there. my shrinks would be so proud!

ALSO WATCHED SEASON 4 OF DEXTER AAAAHHHHH so nuts at the end. that show is the shitttt. cant wait till season 5 airs bc F-I-L introduced us to the best website- www.channel131.com ...i think. anwyay it has tons of brand new movies still in theaters and shows up right after they air. for those who dont know, international privacy laws prevent us from getting tons of cool shit that were used to in the states online. eg- PANDORA...INSTANT NETFLIX...HULU...CWTV.COM...ABC.COM. i realllyyy didnt think id miss us tv but its a nice little piece of home away from home :)

first day of class :))))

today was our first day of classes!!!!!! so great that many US schools started a month ago! suckssss. thats my school! ---->
ki gave me a load of shit for being nervous about what to wear on the first day. analyzing outfits on our walk to class (intro to psych for the 3rd time, but 3rd times a charm!!) we were rolling our eyes at people wearing heels and laughing at people wearing hollister like its still cool! Now I have Buddhist Philosophy then Australian Pop Culture with Ki. I'll update soon later! I can only imagine walking into class saying, sorry im late, i was blogging.

sunshine coast

figured out the really convininet train system this weekend!! we ventured to Sunshine Coast on Saturday, home of the Australian Zoo! where Steve Irwin the croc hunter worked! stayed in our first australian hostel, Mooloolaba Backpackers. Really recommend it if you're in the market for int'l hostel. def one of the higher end ones that i've seen! across the street was the Mooloolaba Bowls Club, some freaky aussie sport on really well-manicured grass, something between bowling and bacci ball... Mooloolaba was the name of the town we were in..took us a while to figure out pronounciation!

We walked to a really cool bar called Friday's where we stumbled across a bachelor party who was really into our whole group, guys included, and bought everyone something like 8-10 rounds. anyway their tab ended up being $1,485....THANKS, SEE YA!

Sunday morning we tried to surf, no waves, all aussies looking at the dumb ass yankers in the flat water... talked to some really cute kids though. they're way better when they have accents. so when i have kids ill raise them here so they have great accents and i'll like them more? Looking for a husband to do this with, let me know via facebook.

O WEEK

this has been the best week ever!!!!!!!! monday was toga party, my first one of college, and we looked great. probably the best looking togas there. people went all out and were really legit and hilarious. went to a SICK asian club called East, check it out!! ki of course lost her wallet at some point in the night so we had our first experience with PUBLIC transportation here.. walked around Broadbeach, so pretty and COOL!!! heres a pic! walking around, we couldnt stop saying "wait, we live here!" exciting! found a starbucks :) and finally ki's wallet with the help of a homeless man.. later we celebrated by going to HIBACHI!! found one in walking distance of campus and made friends with the owners and got free sakiiii yayayayy (kiku > teriyaki mate for those in springfield, il). wednesday we explored a beach called burleigh heads and started shopping for surfboards!!!! water is FREEZING since its coming from antarctica i realized. re-established by kebab obsession that has been put on hold since leaving brussels' pita street! thursday was tight and bright, which most of my costume wardrobe consists of! except DARIAN DOLENC has my favorite pairs of neon leggings!!! i wore a really ridiculous neon pink one piece and leggings. it was a hit. campus bar was packedddd. conviniently met nice aussie boy who lived on my floor who wanted to share his grey goose. i like him. met another aussie boy at the bar who bought me absinth shots. sorry momm...

HAVING A SICK TIME AND CANT BELIEVE IM HERE FOR SCHOOL! post cards going out sometime this week. also planning on getting an aussie phone in the near future....my american phone is suspended while im here so im not getting any calls or texts :( but comment/facebook me!!

OMGGG can't believe we made it. 300+ pounds of luggage between me libby and ki. had wine in the airport waiting for our bags with MY REAL ID!!! I'm so obsessed with this place. Campus is gorg and everyone is SO FREAKING NICE. like sooo smiley and happy and friendly and funny!! :D! all the study abroad people we've met so far are soo cool too- everyone is so open and wants to be friends with everyone!!! potentially met THE ONE. were still reminiscing on how gorg he was aaaahhh still pretty jetlagged...woke up around 4 am thankkkkfully ki was awake too ahh we might as well have stayed out. ok the bar was crowded at EIGHT PM. prob bc people drink like they mean it here. likkeee how theres a toga party at the campus bar and they gave us our togas to make and the SCHOOL (not frats) bus us to and from the bars. so tonight will be good after a power nap. so busy, SO HAPPY. pics soon!
